Principle of negative pressure sealing drainage

At present, for superficial wounds in clinic, dressing change is commonly used. The treatment time is long, the effect is poor, and the gauze is easy to be soaked by exudates, leading to pollution and reinfection, which requires frequent dressing change. For the deep wound or cavity, drainage tube is often used for drainage. Whether active or passive drainage, drainage is conducted through the end hole of the drainage tube and the limited side hole. It is impossible to achieve full contact with the drainage cavity. It is a point or multipoint drainage. The drainage tube is exposed in the drainage cavity, which is easy to be blocked. When using high negative pressure suction, the tube hole is more likely to be blocked, and the drainage effect is unsatisfactory. Open drainage is more likely to lead to infection.

Negative pressure sealing drainage uses medical foam as the intermediary between drainage tube and wound surface. On the one hand, it can achieve full wound drainage; On the other hand, the drainage material is led out after being cut and shaped by the foam material, which is not easy to block the drainage tube. Closure is the premise to maintain the continuous negative pressure on the wound surface, isolate the wound from the outside world, and prevent pollution and infection. For superficial wounds, the composite dressing composed of film and foam material is similar to the skin in function, making the local environment closer to the physiological state. High negative pressure continuous suction can remove exudates from the wound surface in time to ensure the cleanness of the wound surface; When there is a large cavity, high negative pressure also helps to eliminate the cavity; For superficial wound, it can also reduce the wound size; At the same time, high negative pressure itself can improve local microcirculation and stimulate the growth of granulation tissue.
